Canada Post research indicates that Cyber Week promotions continue to boost holiday shopping and mailing in Canada.
Parcel mail orders leapt to 59 percent during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday mania, according to Canada Post.
Electronics purchases top Canadian Cyber Week shopping—supported by electronics parcel delivery rates that triple the previous week’s volumes. E-commerce mailings have doubled what they were in 2012, which is indeed prompted by the positiveness of Cyber Week.
Rod Hart, the General Manager of Canada Post’s Parcels and E-commerce Market Development, shares, “It appears many consumers delayed their holiday purchases in anticipation of retail discounts and promotions.” Hart’s statement continues, “Compared to just two years ago, Canadian retailers have established a stronger online presence and offering for Canadian consumers. And the resulting parcel orders speak volumes.”
Nearly 50 percent of Canada Post’s e-commerce mailings stem from online fashion and retail orders. Cyber Week’s online orders from fashion retailers surpassed 2013’s volumes by 37 percent this year.
